Leadership Initiative for Teens
LIFT- Leadership Initiative for Teens. Every week is a self-contained topic. The Torah text used will be a springboard for a facilitated discussion. The program will help train teens to think for themselves and ready them for a wide range of challenging issues they are sure to face.
View some of the classes the kids have had so far this year.
"We have been having lots of fun. The students show a lot of depth. They are extremely thoughtful and I am encouraged that the texts seem to really resonate with them and everyone contributes to our discussions. It is hard to tell at this point to what extent the students are growing, but there is no question that the socializing with other Jews their age and their engaging the Jewish texts are really serving them well. This class no doubt serves an important role even beyond spreading the word about Aliza's baking skills." - Rabbi Asher
If you know anyone who might be interested in joining the class then please send along their information so they can be invited. In the future we will look into chessed projects/trips that will allow the students to take what they have learned and put it into action.
Classes meet at 6:30pm on Mondays at the Sherman home (6208 Patterson Ave) and usually run till 8:00pm.
